My story

Wycombe Wanderers FC has been part of my life for the past 45 years. Each year the Club actively supports Prostate Cancer UK and the annual Prostate United fund raising challenge. Whereby Football Clubs have a league table to raising money for Prostate Cancer UK.

A year ago I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. Luckily, I was tested and diagnosed quickly. After hormone and radiotherapy treatment I am thankfully now in remission. I was one of the lucky ones as the disease kills one man every 45 minutes. The same time that it takes to play half of a football match.

To challenge myself I decided to join Prostate United by walking at least 100 miles (160 kms) in October.

My decision to take part was to:-
*. Improve my general fitness as I lost muscle strength during treatment
*. Raise awareness
*. Raise money for this worthwhile cause
* Help those men who will face a similar diagnosis in the future
*. Improve diagnosis rates and treatments that are moving forward at a great pace

Any sponsorship, irrespective of amount, would be greatly appreciated. In addition, if I am able to achieve my target of £750 I will personally make a proportionate donation to Breast Cancer Now to support the ladies who support us men.

Kind Regards
Grahame
