My story

5km every day in October for Prostate Cancer UK 🏃‍♂️

This October I'm taking on Prostate United, covering 5km every single day for 31 days. That's 155km in total, all to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Not only is this for a great cause, it's also a bit of a personal challenge for me. For almost 15 years I had to give up running completely because of a dizziness problem. For a long time I just accepted that running wasn't something I could do anymore. Over the last year I've been building back up, and I've been amazed (and relieved!) to find myself out on the road again. Getting through all 31 days would be a really big deal for me.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, and around 1 in 8 men will get it in their lifetime. Prostate Cancer UK funds research, supports men and their families, and works to catch the disease earlier, when it's far more treatable. Every pound raised makes a real difference.

If you can spare anything at all, I'd be hugely grateful. And if you can't, a bit of encouragement along the way would mean a lot too. Some of those days in week three are going to be tough!

Thanks so much for reading and for your support.

John
