My story

Some of you know that I have prostate cancer, some of you don’t. I am lucky in so far as the cancer is currently very low level and I do not need any treatment as yet. They are just keeping an eye on it. Not literally keeping an eye on it… that literal finger was\is bad enough without someone constantly peering at my innards.

Prostate Cancer kills one man every 45 minutes. Prostate Cancer UK has launched a running campaign during October to raise funds to find better tests and treatments for this terrible condition. Participants can agree and commit to walk, run or cycle 5 or 10k every day during the month.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I detest running. So, you will all know that me committing to this amount of running is not a decision that has been taken lightly. It’s better than giving up booze for that Stoptober malarkey, but not much better.

I have family members who have lived through this disease, family members who are still living with it and sadly, family members who have died from it. So, if you can, please donate to support this great charity. I’ll keep you posted with progress as October drags on and on and on...
